I see that since my last letter a considerable v amount of improvement has. been made on biir roads, and "the Kiwitea Road Board, since.. my last cruise round,' have had the. dangerous places in the Valley road attended to by having the waiter- tables cleared out, and a tree removed was becoming very danger- : ';OUS.' : ;' ' : . . ■•' . .■ 1 , ■-■ In my last letter I mentioned that a store was about to be erected on Horse.shoe Hill, but I find the proposed site has ? been'ch^riged to the junction of the; Val-* ', ley road with the Pbhangina road. 1 There'have been floods in the Pohangina lately, and; many persons making their way up had to remain on this side as the river was top deep to ford. On Monday, the 2nd instant, the rainfall was ' very heavy. In cphsequißnce of the wet season feed is in great abundance, and all classes of stock are , looking well, -There.' were a good many rams purchaeed; by. our' local men at the Palmerston Rain , air «: ■ ■■- • ..-,. ■: ■ ■■■•■■ '. ' y : BushfellingThas not ceased yet ;,, in fact some people have made a fresh start. : ; This has been a remarkable season for bees, and the number of swarms which have' been taken indicate arich ; Bnpply of honey in due course of time. The crop of grass seed will not be so good, owing to the preya^ence of rainy weather at the time when people should have been harvesting it. J
