The Wool Market

(per united press association).' London, January 28. - At the wool sales to-day 13,000 bales were offered. There was a large attendance of buyers, and competition was verykeen. Merinos are firm at prices realised at the December series, and crossbreds at a slight increase.

The N.Z.L. and M.A. Company have received the following cable message from their London office, dated London 27th instant: — Wool — The sales opened this day at level of last sales except fine greasy crossbred, for which market is firmer. The total quantity available, including wool held over from last series, is 387,000 bales, 52,000 of which have been forwarded to the manufacturing districts direct.
