HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
Tuesday, January 27. The House met at 2 p.m. The Premier announced .that since the House had met last he had succeeded in forming a Ministry. (Cheers.) He then announced the name of the new Ministers. He explained that the administration of the Post and Telegraph Departments would be practically in the hands of Mr Ward. There was one portfolio not yet filled, bnt he hoped to announce in a day or two that it had been alloted. The House rose at 3.39 p.m.
"Wednesday, January 28. The House met at 2.30 p.m. ' Mr Goldie. took the oath and his. seat. A, number of petitions and returns were laid on the table. ( In answer to Mr Bolleston the Premier said he hoped the House would adjourn next week, and not meet again till next May. - A motion of sympathy with Sir G. Grey in his illness was unanimously carried. The A Idress-in : R< 'ply .was moved by Mr Palmer, who was followed by Mr Pinkerton. Dr Newman spoke in defence of the - late Government. A lengthy debate followed, in which the Premier, Scobie Mackenzie, Mr Bryce, and the Minister of Education took part. At 10.40 the debate was adjourned' on the motion of Mr Duncan. ,
