Tuesday, January 27.. The Speaker took the chair at 2,30 p,inv The Hon. C. Bpwen took the oath and his seat in the Council. The Hon. P. Buckley made a short statement as to the present position of affairs. He enumerated the new members of the Ministry, and said he would state the order of business at the earliest possible moment. The Council adjonrned at S p.m.

January 28. In the Legislative Council the Address-in-Reply was carried. During the debate the Hon. Mr Scotland condemned the late Government for making appointments to the Council.
