Bridge at Aorangi

At the meeting of the Manawatu Boad Board held on Tuesday last, <{ respecting the proposal to erect a bridge orer the Oroua river at Aorangi, it was unanimously agreed, without discussion, that the bridge would be of no benefit to the ratepayers in this road district, and that the Manchester Boad Board be informed the Board cannot see its way to fall in with the proposal. Mr Flyger re marked that as the town of Palmerston would be benefitted by the proposed bridge, the Council should be asked to make a contribution." This summary mode of disposing of the question will hardly, be satisfactory to the ratepayers of the Manawatu Koad District living at Taonui.
