During the voyage of the ship Peter Stuart, from New York, a mutinous sailor named Curry attempted to stab the second officer while arresting him on a charge of assaulting the chief mate The latter had Curry covered with a revolver* and as the sailor drew the knife he fired, mortally wounding him. Curry died shortly afterwards, and the first mate gave himself up to the police on arrival here.
