Feilding Star. TUESDAY, JAN. 6, 1891. Bridge at Aorangi

The subject of erecting a bridge over the Oroua River at Aorangi was very fairly discussed at tho meeting of the* Manchester Road Board ou Saturday, and from the tone of the remarks of the members, it is safe to assume that the project will receive the most favourablo consideration at the next meeting of the Board, when Mr Lethbridge, the chairman, brings up his report giving an account of the results of his interviews with the other local bodies interested.. The cost of erecting the proposed bridge will be much smaller than was at first estimated, therefore the amounts to be contributed by tho several local bodies to pay interest and sinking fund, will be proportionately smaller, and therefore less likely to excite opposition. We are sure that it is the earnest hope of everyone who desires to witness the progress of this district aided, by giving increased facilities to farmers and stockowners, that this very desirable work will be completed within the next twelve months.
