He was anxious on the previous day to have his name on the roll, so that he could exercise the franchise on the sth prox. The inquest on Marsala Cowan was concluded this afternoon. The evidence showed that the deceased's stomach contained no trace of poison. A verdict was returned that deceased died through injuries received through her husband taking her by the throat, she being in a weak state of health. The coroner commits d Cowan on a charge of manslaughter and fixed the bail at— self in £250 and two sureties of £250.
