Feilding Football Club
A meeting of the above was held last night at the Empire Hotel. There was a moderate attendance. Mr Kirton, vicepresident, occupied the chair. After explaining the objects of the meeting, the chairman and Mr E. Goodbehere were appointed scrutineers to open the box containing the ballot papers for Mr Donnelly's trophy. The following were the results : — Gregory, 6 ; Dyer and Shannon, 4 ; Matravers, 3 ; Parr, 2 ; Harmer, 1. Mr R. Whisker proposed, and Mr Harmer seconded, That the season be cloaed with a plain and fancy dress ball. As an amendment, Mr A. Parr proposed, and Mr Strachan seconded, pro forma, That the season b« closed with a banquet. The amendment was lost, and the original resolution being put was carried unanimously. Proposed by Mr E. Goodbehere, seconded by Mr Say well, That Messrs Whisker, Harmer, Say well, Strachan and Fowler, with power to add to their number, be a ball committee. — Carried. During the evening the Secretary, Mr Strachan, announced that the members of the team were to be entertained at a complimentary banquet at an early date. This concluded the business and the meeting closed with the customary yote of thanks to the chairman.
