Sultan and Shotover have been struck out of the Caulfield Cup and Medallion and Cardigan out of the Melbourne Cup. Nothing but Little Bernie is inquired for about the Caulfield Cup at 100 8. The Derby betting is 3 to 1 Titan,. 7 to 2 Gibraltar. The Queen has been backed for the Melbourne Cup at 1000 to 45. Christchurch, October 4. Training operations in view of the Canterbury Metropolitan Meeting are becoming interesting. The N.Z. Cup candidates, Merrie England and Dudu, are doing excellent work.
