London, September 26. The Union S.S. Company, of England, have warned the men out on strike afc Southampton that unless they abandon their dictbrial attitude permanent crews composed of non-Unioniats will be engaged immediately. Synmnr, Thii Day, The miners at Broken Hill silver mines hare taken a ballot as to whether they should agree to the clause m the terms of settlement, recently drawn up, which, provides for starting $he pumps to keep mines in order during the continuance of the' Strike. The ballot was against this being done. - There are indications that the working classes are .beginning to feel the effect of , the strike as there has been large withdrawals from the sayings bank. The Government are holding an enquiry into the charges brought against Lieut.- --[ Colonel Tom Price, the officer commanding Mounted Bines, Bifle Volunteers, and BifleOlubs of instructing his men, if necessity arose, to fire low. The labour party are incensed at Colonel Price's instructions. Bbisbaki, This Day* , The Bftfway hands haye, by a large majority, declined to affiliate with the labor party. ■ Weiukstok, This Day. Abdut £450 was distributed as strike* pay to-day. The cooks and stewards on strike here, have carried resolutions authorising their executive to use their invested fond* amounting to about £1500. The publioans have subscribed j>B6 to the strike fund. The strikers hold a demonstration to day, and march in procession through the main streets headed by the bands.
