' A meeting of the committee of the above ■was held on Tuesday night in the Denbigh Hotel. Present — Messrs Walter Bailey, Wilson, Henry, Allen, gherwill, Kirton v Goodbetiere, Gosling, Morey, Sandilands (secretary). Mr Sherwill was appointed chairman. COEEESPONDENCE. From C. J. Penfold, circular re publication " Form at a Glance," giving the performances of all horses running at recognised meetings during the racing season 1889-90. From Secretary Wanganui Jockey Club, re the programme for the hack races to be held on the 27th December and appro ving<?f the same. Other correspondence was read, and ■where necessary dealt with in the resolutions. ' ■ Proposed by Mr Gosling, seconded by Mr -Henry, That Messrs Paul's nomination fee and Kennedy's acceptance fee for . Winter Oats, be returned to those gentle-men.r-^Carried. • Proposed by Mr Henrys seconded by Mr Gosling, That the winner of any race after declaration of weights carry 14 ponnds penalty in the Hurdles, Manchester hack, Flying.— Carried. . Proposed by Mr W. Bailey, seconded by Mr. Kirton, That the following definition of a back, as suggested by the Wanganui. Club be adopted, "A hack is a liorse that has never won an advertised • rftce^jM-ia nominated for any race at the / time pf start or for six months previous thereto— hack or hunter races excepted." — Carried: '■.■.-. Proposed by Mr Morey, seconded by Mr Goodbehere, That Messrs Sandilands and Henry be a. cominittee to arrange dates of nominations and acceptances. — Carried. , Proposed by Mr Gosling, seconded by Mr Allen, That the account of £5 2s for repairs to the roller be paid. — Carried. Proposed by Mr Goodbehere, seconded fcy Mr Kirton, That the following new members be elected, viz., Messrs W. Trimble,; Charles^ Bray, Edward Smith, Gibson Millan, Claude Henry Bennett, A. W. Ridley, J. F. Donnelly, W. Bellve. — Carried, Proposed by Mr Goodbehere, seconded i>y Mr Kirton, That the Club obtain eight copies of " Form at a glance "—Carried. Resolved, That Messrs Gosling, Wilson, Henry and the Secretary be a working committee. Proposed by Mr Morey, seconded by Mr Bailey, That the programme be advertised in the Feilmng Stab, Advocate, . Wanganui Herald and Referee. — Carried. Proposed -by Mr Gosling, seconded by Mr Wilson, That Messrs Hill and Poole'a iotalisator be engaged for the next meeting off the usual terms. — Carried. Mr Bray, C.E., put in ah estimate of certain works required on the new course. Proposed by Mr Goodbehere, seconded by Mr Kirton, that the Engineer, Mr Bray, be authorised to prepare the plans of a grand stand, to enable the Club to Tiold the races on the new course at the summer meeting.— Carried. Proposed by Mr Kirton, seconded by Mr Morey, "That the offer of Mr Bailey to supply timber for the fencing and grand stand to be paid for after the Christmas races be accepted. — Carried. - Proposed by Mr Gosling, seconded by Mr Wilson, That Mr. Bray be authorised to go on with the work of levelling, ditching and fencing the course as per "estimates put in, at once.— Carried. Proposed by Mr Gosling, seconded by Mr Kirton, That the members' horses -training fee be 10s 6d and non-members 21s. — Carried. A vote of thanks to the chair closed the ,-
