' i.F«B UKITID PBBBB ASSOCTATIOK. j ; Wanoanui, September 23. The criminal sessions of the Supreme Court opened to-day before the Chief Justice. The criminal list is very light, consisting of one case of lareeny of wool, one robbery with violence from the per* j son, one libel, one murder by a Maori, and one case of misappropriation of trust moneys, also a case of sheep stealing against eight Maoris, True bills were found against Charles William Hewitt, for robbery with violence ; eight Natives for sheep stealing, and against 0. H* Ashforkh for misappropriation of trust moneys. Bills were thrown out in the cases of William Craig, for larceny of wool, and John Gillespie, for perjury. Charles William Hewitt, found guilty of robbery with violence, was sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment, with h\rd labour. . '
