I PEB UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. J ' Timaru, This Day. A train of 80 trucks passed through today, bound for the southern collieries for the North Canterbury railways. . Wellington, Thia Day. A Cabinet meeting, presided over by the Premier this morning, decided to recommend the Government to appoint C. M. Crombie, Deputy- Commissioner of the Property Tax to fill the vacant Commißsionership caused by the death of J. Sperry ; and J. McGowan, Chief Clerk in the Department to the position of Deputy Commissioner. The question of the general election was discussed, bat tbe polling day will not be fixed until the return of Captain Bussell, who is expected to-morrow. It is probable that the day will be between the 12th and 20th of November. It is understood none of the Ministers will address their constituents until the Premier's manifesto is issued.
