The London agents of Messrs F. ' 32. Jackson and Co. under date Bth August, report better demand for New. Zealand Hemp, and that prices have improved 20s to 30s per. ton, the lower qualities showing the greatest improvement. Of 3000 bales offered all have been sold either at or ; After the auction. Superior soft \ bright, £23 to J224, good quality well cleaned £21 to £22 10s, fair to good £19 10s to £20 10s, common coarse and strawy £15 to £18 per ton. {Stocks in London 4602 tons as against 1149 tons at the same time last year.
