J Gbetmouth, August 28 The Brunnerton coal miners took a ballot to-day as to whether they should accept dd deduction per ton, 2d permanently and 3d pending tho result of the royal commission, and by a majority of 12 it was resolved they should go to work at a reduction on Monday next. It is estimated that between 30 and 40 miners have left the district for elsewhere since the lock out. Blenheim, August 28. The Mahakipawa Miners' Union have by a unanimous resolution, boycotted the Marlborough Daily Times in consequence of some adverse criticisms on the labour movement appearing in the leading columns of that journal, and each member of the Union has agreed to cancel his subscription to the paper.
