Feilding State School Committee
A special meeting of the Feilding School Committee was held at the school rooms last evening, for the purpose oi selecting a new head teacher. Present — P. Y. Lethbridge (chairman), and Messrs Morey, Hicks, Worsfold, Gould and Curtis. Mr Watts (secretary) was unavoidably absent. The chairman read four applications for the position, accompanied by testimonials in each case, from Mr J. Woodham, of Foxton ; Mr J. C. Hill, of Wayerly ; Mr Geo. Grant, of Sandon ; and Mr J. Harre, of Norman by. After considerable discussion Mr Worsfold proposed, and Mr Morey seconded, That Mr J. C. Hill be appointed to the position of Lead teacher of the Feilding school. Mr Gould proposed, as an amendment, and Mr Hicks seconded, That Mr Grant be appointed to the position. Messrs Lethbridge, Worsibld and Moray voted i'or the proposition, and Messrs Gould, Hicks and Curtis for the amendment. The voting beiug o<iuul, the chairman crave his casting vote in f,.i vor oi Mr Hill, who was therefore declared elected, and a recorunifciuLuion to that effect was forwarded to the Education Bo;»rd. The meeting then adjourned.
