have received the following cable message from their London office, dated 15th August :— Tallow is in good demand. Mutton tallow has »ilvanced 6d and beef tallow 3d per cwt. since last report. Frozen and preserved meats — Market quiet. Canrt-rKury inuttou is worth 4^l and Wellington mutton «3|-d per lb. Prime New Zealand lambs are worth per caicase od per lb. New Zealand heel' prime fore^uarters worth 2id and hindquuiters 3fd per lb. New Zealand hemp — There is a fair iride de maud. Quotations unchanged.
