During the last fortnight we have ln.-ld at Marton, Feilding and Palmerston exceptionally large sales for this time of the year. The bidding at all was good, and cattle and sheep moved off freely at advanced rates. The demand for cattle is better than it has been for years, and the in creased sales of late have been maintained. We quote following rated : — Cattle. — Marton — 18 month to 2-year steers, 355; 1-year to 18---month mixed, 245 ; store cows, 30s ; forward cows, £'2 12s 6d ; fat cows, £3 ss; mixed yearlings, 20s. Feilding—Fat cows, £3 to £3 ss ; 2 to 3-year steers, £3 10s; 2-year steers, £2 7s; 18-mouth do, 325; 3-year heifers, 38s ; 2-year heifers, 37s 6d to £2 8s (id ; store cows, 375.
