The experiments made show that wheat grown in a temperate climate is most free from rust. In discussing: the question the Standard advises Australian growers to utilise English seed. Svu.vKy, : ugusf 5 Wheat is a shade finer — chick feed, 2s 8d to 2s 9d ; good sound, 3b 10d. Outs —of sorts, Is 7d to Is lOd ; best bright heavy feed is little scarce at Is lid. Maize — local, 3s 6d to 3s 9d ; New Zealand, 2s Sd. Burley — very dull, 2s 3d. Bran — quiet, 7Jd. Pollard— dull, 7d. Peas — best blue Prussian are easy at 3s 9d. Potatoes — Circular Heads, £3 os , New Zealand, £3 10s. The market is glutted, and there is fully three week**' supply on hand. Onions are steady — Victorian, Jtll ; New Zealand, £13. Butter — Local dairy made, 8d to 9d ; separator made, 9d to lid; factory made, lid to Is. Cheese, 2£d to 3d; loaf size, sd. Bacon — Machine-cured, 4£d to s^l ; hand-cured, 6d to 6£d ; New Zealand, 9d to Kid. Hams — Local- cured, 6d to 9d; New Zealand, lOd to Is.
