An inquest was held before Mrßeetham, R VI , this afternoon, on the body of a young married woman named Anna Maria Dickson, who died suddenly at Richmond; The evidence showed that »he and hei husband had been drunk for several weeks, and that death was the direct result of excessive drinking. A verdict to that effect was returned. Auckland, July 30. Mr John Probert, who died the other day worth £40,000, has left £20000 to the Wesleyan Church Buildin.' Fund, i< transpires that the bequ st to the Young Men's Chnstiau Association is £500 After makinc provision for his widow and giving a pecuniary legacy to each of his other relatives, he has left the residue of his property to the New Zealand Wes leyan Conference, which is directed to appropriate £1000 to the new mission in New Guinea, £1000 to the Auckland Home Mission, and the remainder for a Wesleyan theological and training mstr tution in Auckland. The pecumrry iegacies amount to about £6200 It is roughly estima'ed that the estate will realise about £20,000. . Information lias been received that the steenechaser Orangeman has been sold privately in Melbourne for 250 guineas.
