The Estates Gazette of London, on May 3, says : — " A firm of land agents and auctioneers carrying on business in Wellington and Auckland, New Zealand (Messrs Biker Bros ), have forwarded us an account of a few of their recent sales extracted from a local paper. As is well known land noar the large tiwns in New Zealand is extremely valuable, but we hardly expected to learn, as we do from an advertisement in the paper referred to, that land in the vicinity of the prosperous to.wn of Wellington is worth considerably more than it i» in many parts ol the. old oountry just now.
