i (PEB UNITED PBESS ASSOCIATIONj Sydney. July 11. r Mr Poulsen, sporting writer of the Daily Telegraph, met with a serious acci- . dent to-day, whioh is likely to terminate fatally. While out riding his horse bolted . and dashed^ into an approaching cart, the . shaft of which penetrated the rider's thigh, perforated the limb, and fractured the pelvis. The sight was Bickening. > Dunedin, July 10. Fierce flames were seen early this morning issuing from a spot near Naseby. [ On a number of residents proceeding to [ the locality, a wagon laden with kerosene was found to be on fire. An examination showed that the wagoner, Bobert Cochrane, had been burnt to death, his body being reduced to almost a cinder. Westpobt, July 11. John Dempsey, working at the granite quarry at Cape Foulwind to-day, was crushed by a large stone, which fell frpm the face, and was killed instantly. Auckland, July 10. A young man named Donald McLean, 29 yesrs of age, has died from the effects ' of a crushing he received while at work in the bush near Waipu. A seaman on the barquentme Lumberman Lassie, which arrived at Aratapu from Melbourne on Friday, was furling the main top sail of that vessel when he fell a distance of 40ft, and was killed* _ . '
