Indignation Meeting at Woodville
DISTURBANCES THREATENED. (per united press association.) Woodvime, This Day. At an indignation meeting, attended by 400 people, held last night, to protest against the policy of the Railway Commissioners in removing the terminal station buildings, .a resolution was passed that the proposal was a violation of the original Public Works scheme since endorsed by all governments, while it upset the conveniences of railway communication to the settlers in the district. A daputation was appointed to wait on the Commissioners and to interview menfbers of Parliament, on the matter. Numerous speeches made during the evening, and a. strong feeling evinced' against the policy and management of the Bailway Com>— Tg missioners as the proposal was clearly a ™ breach, of the representations on wbicb the Government sold town lands here. It was also hinted that the action of the Commissioners may lead to a-disturbancer of a serious character. A resolution was also passed urging on the construction of the Woodville-Eketahuna line.
