Settlement Returns
Tbe Minister of Lands has prepared a return showing the increase of settlemeut from year 1 to year since 1883. The point of the return is that the i iucreaae ef acres has been steadily progressive, aud that the uew selectors from year to year show but little v.wmtion. The following are the figures : —
It be seen from the above return that the increase in the number of acres taken up ia larger in 1890 than in any previous one of the six years. It shows as above stated that from year ; to year land has been taken up on settlement conditions progressively.
