Mr Homer read a letter in which Mr Marchant, in reply to Mr Homer, stated that the Land Board would sanction the taking of the thirds /from" [section's fronting the main road to pay interest on the loan. In Mr Homer's opinion the only thing that could ►he, done at .the meeting, wqulcl be to fix the place and time for the poll io be taken. Mr Moore wanted the matter threshed out a little moreV He would like some assurance that settlers on the bye roads would work hand in hand with those bn ithe . main road, whose thirds would be taken to pay interest on the loan. The expenditure would benefit every settler in the districts.
