LPSB UNITED PKEBB ASSOCIATION.! Auckland, April 21. A well-known jockey named James Carey was thrown from a horse on Sunday, on Panmure road, and when discovered was found to be unconscious, and suffering from a fracture of the skull, concussion of the brain, and a broken collarbone. The unfortunate man was removed to the hospital, where he died to-day. He leaves a widow and several children. A fisherman named Charles Johnston has been drowned by the upsetting of a boat near the Sandspit lighthouse, outside the harbour. The deceased, who was a Swede, leayes a wife and two children. This Day. News has been received 'from Corom'andel that Edward Brady, an old miner working at To Kotia Hill, was killed by a fall of earth. Dunkdin, April 21. At the inqnest on Mrs Winkfield, who was killed by being run over by a cart, a verdict of accidental death was returned.
