At Brewarina, where the Ydam burst, the town is inundated to a. depth of 4 feet, and business is entirely suspended. Several largo brick buildings are collapsing, owing to th» foundations giving way. April 18. News was received to»night that Bourke was flooded, and that everyonewere doing their best to save themselves. Boats are being pulled through the streets, rescuing people from their homes. The night is very black and dark. The value of property at stak» is estimated at £1,000,000. Walgett is in a terrible condition,, and ah epidemic of fever is feared,, owing to the stench from the dead animals.
