At the Nelson races on Thursday, Sincerity won the Cup, with Bedwood and Victory in the places, the dividend being £A I3s. Oceola won the Hurdles, Angler the Waimate Plate and Grand Stand Handicap, and Gladstone the Welter... : On the second day Clyde won the Hurdle Race, Angler the Richmond Park and Flying Handicaps, and Wanderer the Consolation.. . , At the Reefton Meeting on Thursday last, Martonian beat Montrose and Sweet in the Autumn Handicap. During the race/ Stoat fell' arid broke his shoulder, having to: be shot. In the Hurdle Eace, which May Boy won, College Boy fell at the first hurdle, and the rider (Blackmore) broke his collar bone. At the second day's races, Bosebud appropriated the Miners' Handicap, Cheque 2nd, Martonian 3rd ; dividend £4,1. The Bailway Handicap fell to Cheque, with Martonian 2nd, while Montrose won the Consolation and College Boy the Hurdles. Melos, who was purchased as a yearling for 500 g-uiheas, has started; in 23 races, of which he has won four, been five times second/eight times third, and six times unplaced. During the time Carline has been running in the interests of the Hon. Mr Wallace he has -won iri stakes for the Victorian sportsman £8210, so that it will be seen that the son of Musket and Mersey has made a handsome return for the 3000 guineas which Mr Wallace extended in his purchase after the V.BO. .
