It is understood that in the rearrange* ment of electoral districts, 12 will disappear from the South Island and nine from the North/ while the" names of some others have beetualtered. Amongst those are:— Rodney, Ooromandel, one of the PranHyns, Waipa, Tauranga, Ti^jfaaki, Foxton, Manawatu, "Woodville, Motueka, Kumeroa, Cheviot, Einwood, St. Albans, Sydenham, Akaroa, Rangitara, Gladstone, Waikemo, Dunstan, Waikaiu, Hokoriui, Peninsula, Caversham. The boundaries will be settled to-day, but the maps will not be ready till next week. The new electoral boundaries of Palmerston comprise the whole of the county of Horowhenua, the boroughs of Palmerston North and Foxton, the ridings of Taonui and Fitzhabert of the county of Oroua, the whole of the county of Manawatu, excepting the riding pf Mount Stewart and that part of the Sandon riding north of the road from Sandon to the Rangitikei River, via the Pakapa* native block, together with that portion of the Horokewhi riding of the county of Hutt, which is north of a line drawn due east from, a point on -the sea coast, about one mile south of Paikakariki. This, electoral district include! also the island of Kapiti. Rangitikei comprises the boroughs of Marton and Feilding, the Ridings, of Maungaraupi, Clifton, and Rangitoto, of the County of Rangitikei, and the lower portion of the Porewa Riding of the same county which is not included within the boundaries of the Waitotara Electoral District, together with the whole of she County of Oroua, less the ridings of Taonui and Fitzberbert of that country. This district includes also the Mount Stuart riding of the County of Ma^awattJ, and that portion of the Sandon Riding of the same county, which is situate to the Egrth of the road from Sandon to the Rangitikei river, via the Pakapakatea Native block. The town districts of Hakonibe and Bulls are within this district. .
Gisbokne, This Day. Intense astonishment is expressed here at the new electoral boundaries. The districts having nothing in common are included, whilst the settled country » few miles from Gisbornfe is included in Hawkesißay'. . •<■•' : .
