Week after week the : tale of religious bigotry is heard from one part or another. The offending prelate this time is the Bishop Commissary of Truro, who has forbidden tie Key. James Bell a clergyman of the Established Church, from officiating in ■any church within his diocese. Mr Bell's particular sin of commission is that he has a brother who is actually * minister of a Wesieyan Chapel, The Anglican brother, who was out of tealth, went ..to visit bis Wesieyan • brother for a change, and while there dared one Sunday night to preach in ins brother's Chapel. This heinous -deed was duly reported to the Bishop who put. on an awful frown, and tnetaphoricalfy cursed by bell, book, and candle the erring sinner. The -Church cries out that her power is waning, and feebly 'crosses her bauds, «nd stands helpless in the ruck/ No wonder, now that the .people are wide awake, that the Church, is neglected, when^ the said Church flaunts her tenth* century bigotry in the face of nineteenth civilisation. The people are beginning to realise that the reputed followers of the «' meek «nd lowly" Nazareue are a ■very long way removed from the idoal they profess to imitate, and that {between the true Christianity of the Apostles of the past and the would-be epbstlesof-tjie present there is a great gulf fixed which modern humanity caifnoFfcrdW.- ' • ■.
