Stevens and Groton's Ram and Sheep Fair
The above, which took place on Thursday last, was very largely attended, and the bidding was spirited. Out of 7000 sheep yarded 6500 were quitted. The following prices were realised for some of the leading lines :-^-Mr Lethbridge's ewes brought from 7/5 to 8/3 ; shorn lambs, 4/6 to 5/1; wethers, 8/- to 9/6; 2-tooth ewes, 9/1; old ewes, 4/ v to 7/-; Lincoln rams, 1 J to 2f guineas ; Bomney rams, -I to 1 guinea; Hampshire Down rams, 1£ guineas. ,
