The Onepuhi Bridge

The control of the Onepuhi bridge bas been vested in the Rangitikei County Council, and it has also been fixed that the said Council shall provide out of its own funds a proportion of three-sixths of the actual cost of managing and maintaining the said bridge ; and that the Manchester Road Board shall, on demaud in writing from the Rangitikei County Council, pay tbe said Couucil two-sixths, and the Kiwitea Road Board one sixth of the actual cost of managing and maintaining the said bridge. This order came iuto force from the Ist instant. As tbe bridge is therefore still uuder the "exclusive cure, con trol, and mahagement of the Rangiti kei Couucil" we, on this side of the river, hope that august body will at the same time exercise economy with wisdom, and not squander money in useless work merely because they have only to pay half the cost.
