*+ _ TO THB RI>ITOH OF THE STAB. Sir, — I see by your issue of the 28th, in a letter signed " Ratepayer" referring to my appointment as inspector of Road Board. Now, sir, if this perverter of the truth had came to me, I could haye told him, without taking your time and invaluable space, who was paying me. He is telling a falsehood when he says that the settlerß are dissatisfied at my appointment because they know I am doing justice to all, without insulting any one.
