Johnsonville, January 8. Freeman E. Jackson and Co.'s Johusonville stock report :— Cattle in moderate supply, the quality earying -greater, smaller sorts selling relatively higher than others. Bidding was brisk. Sheep in usual numbers. Well fatted wethers occupied the pens used. A few medium ewes^ made up the entry. A good demancT existed at -quotations. Pigs, numerous the quality of the whole being superior. Owing, however, to the wet weather and -small attendance of buyers, prices were greatly in favour of purchasers, for porkers and bacon pigs especially Oattle.— Fat Bullocks, £4 17s 6d to £5 17s 16d, the average being £5 Is 3d, £5 13s, £5 12s 6d. Sheep.— Fat wethers, 11s to lls 6d : fat ewes, 8s -4d. Pigs.— Bacon pigs, 375; heavy <10, £2 10s ; others, 27s to 35s ; good porkers, 228 6d to 255 ; others, 18s; good stores, 14s to 15s'6d. Ox beef. — 13s to 14s 6d the lOOlbs. Mutton, l£d per lb. GbEtmouth, tfanuary 7. At torday's cattle sale, Wanganui leasts averaged £8 a head, or 21s per lOOlbs ; stores in low condition, £3 15s , sheep. 10s. 14s, 23s 4d; fat lamb?, best, lls 3d to 12s .3d; inferior, 6s 9d to *s 9d ; fat pigs, 4£d per lb.
