Wanganui Harbour Board
The usual monthly meeting of the above body was held yesterday afternoon. Present — Hon. John Ballance (in the chair), Messrs Parsons, HatTick, Campbell, Ritchie, Thatcher, and Stevenson. As to the upset price of sections o; the Endowment Block, it was reported that certain persons had said that < h price put on the land was too high, and if it was lowered the Board ought to be able to sell all the sections. — The chairman said it was most desirable that they should sell them, and he thought they ought to make a substantial reduction on all the unsold sections. The good sections would all be sold first, but when improvements t©3jc place on the good ones, the inferior ones would then be taken up. He thought a reduction of 20 per cent all round would be sufficient. —Carried. Bank Balance. — The bank book showed a credit balance of £28 15s. Accounts. —Accounts to the amount of £136 14s 7d were passed. Tenders. — The tenders for clearing aurvey line on Harbour Endowment Block were received, and that of Mr D. McKeuzie for £14 Is 8d was accepted. — Chronicle.
