i.1"58 UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, This Day. A special meeting of the Bank of New Zealand was held at noon to consider the proposed removal of the Head Office to London. The Chairman moved that the Head Office and General Management of the Bank be removed to London, and that the Directors take such steps as they may think fit to remove the same accordingly. Major George seconded the resolution. In reply to Mr Reader Wood, Mr Button, solicitor to the Bank, explained the present meeting was necessary to affirm a proposition that- it was desirable to remove the Head Office to Londdn, and resolutions would be placed before a subsequent meeting substituting London instead of Auckland; in the deed of settlement, and giving power to the London Board to appoint a Colonial Board of Directors if they think fit, the lttter to act in accordance with instructions framed in London. The motion was carried unanimously.
