The Portuguese in Africa
By Electric Telegraph. —Copyright. (PEK UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Durban, January o. The Portuguese have again beized the British Africa lakes steamers and have lowered the British flag. Mr H. Johnston, the British Consul at a Portuguese port in Mozambique, is organising the natives of Nyassaland to assist the Makololos and Karangos in repelling the Portuguese who are concentratiug their forces at Katunga. It is believed that fighting has already begun. Mr Johnston, British Consul, has promised the British residents protection from the Portuguese. The situation of the Portuguese is considered precarious. ___^
