The above will, appear in the As'Bembly Rooms on Wedueaday next of this company our ebnteuipoiaiies say The impersonation by Miss Florence Seymour whs that which was most closely scanned. The fact that Miss Floreuce Seymour had when a member of Simonsen Opera Company, to undertake the contralto parts caused a certain amount of misgiving to be felt as to hor ability to' master the soprano music ; but she 1 received the encouragement of a really Learty welcome, aud her rendering: of '• I dreamt. that I dwelt" immediately d spelled all doubts of her capabilities as a primn d mua. The house, at uo time unsympathetic, waxed enthusiastic over Miss Seymour's singing of this favournumber, The first versa was enthusiastically applauded and an encore was insisted upon. Throughout the opera Miss Seymour maintained the -good impression she then created, and amply demonstrated- what was preTiously regarded as probable— that iv the contralto part she was not fairly cast. Miss Ethel Macka'y quite rose to the occasion as the Gipsy Queen, and, while her singing was frequently capital, her acting was always'first rate. Mr Walshe's Thaddeus was an effective impersonation, and his singing of " When other lip 3*' was the second success of the evening. The other parts were all fairly well filed. — :" Otago "Witness," Dunedin. Mr Walshe, as Thaddeus, fully sustained his reputation as a fine' tenor, and imported a good deal of dramatic effect into his impersonation. — "Post," WelJington.
