November 27. The wool .ale. are animated and prices- remain very firm. Beef has declined £d per Ib. Best mutton tallow, 26s 6d ; best beef, 25a.

At the wool sales to- day r the NewZealand Loan and Mercantile Agenej Company offered 64*26 bales, of which 5000 were sold. There was a largeattendance, and competition was animated, the late rates being fullymaintained. No- further advice waa received as to the rise recently reported from London, which is already fully, discounted. The highest prices obtained were — Greasy merino, Is l£d ; greasy lanibß, la l£d; greasy pieces. Is; greasy crossbreds, Is l£d; scoured crossbreds, Is B£d ; pieces, Is 7£d.

, The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have received the following cable message from their London office, dated 26th instant :—*' Wool.— The sales opened at an average advance - of 7^ per cent, on last sales' closing rates. The attendance of both Home and foreign buyers' is good, and com- _ petition is active. The;total quantity • available, including wool held "over from last seri.b, it 168,000 bales, 12,000 bales of which have been forwarded to the manufacturing districtdirect." *
