At the wool sales to-day the NewZealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company catalogued 5324 bales. There was a full attendance of buyers, and competition was brisk ; -4400 bales were sold at 'the following top rates : — Qreasy merino, l/i£ > greasy lambs, 1/- l£d; greasy pieces, ll£d ; crossbred, 1/- Ofd ; greasy combing, 1/- Of-d ; scoured merino, 1/7 ; scoured pieces, 1/- sfd. . .
