Government Inquiry Wanted

The Hospital Committee, after a lengthy discussion, to-day decided to ask for a Government. inquiry under the following - circumstances :— A Chinaman w«s sent from Hastings to the Hospital by the doctor. He had previously been in the Hospital, and beside being indescribably filthy in his habits, had developed symptoms of insanity. ' The hospital staff refused to admit him without an order from the Committee, and in the end the man was driven back to Hastings, where ho died immediately. At the inqueßt on ths body the ju\/y returned a verdict censuring ' the committee and the staff. At the Com- ' mittee meeting to-day, -Dr' Menzies, the Hospital surgeon, said he believed thai the man came to his death by strangling. J
