At the wool sales to day prices remained very firm. Competition was animated, especially -so on behalf of English and foreign buyers, on account of the bulk of the wools not meeting with American competition. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company's catalogue comprised 2429 bales all of which were sold. Top prices were realised. Greasy merino, Is o£d ; greasy. merino, pieces, lid; greasy lambs, Is Id; greasy crossbreds, ■ llfd; scoured merino, Is 9id ; scoured" merino, pieces, Is BJd.
