Monday, October 7. Present — Messrs Ballance (chair), Stevenson, Hatrick, Parsons, Thatcher, Somnerville, Campbell, and Ritchie. An application was received from Mr vlenzies, contractor, for the road into the Endowment Block asking for an allow nice as he had lost by his contract. — Mi Ritchie said that to do so would upset theManciple of contract. — Mr Hatrick mover hat a reply be sent stating that the Board ould not see its way to entertain the up •lictifcion. — This was seconded by M litchie. — Mr Thatcher moved that th> nditor's opinion be obtained as t( /hether the Board had power to maki my refund. — Seconder! by Mr Sommer ille, and the amendment was carried oi a. division by 4 to 3. — Herald.
