At the wool auctions good scoured merinos showed an advance, from a halfpenny to one penny per lb, on prices obtained at the July sales, while medium scoured and greasy merinos were a half penny, and fine croßsbreds -from par to a halfpenny, above the prices realised for the same bo its at those sales. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have received the following telegram irom their London office, dated 27th :- — Wool;— Tbe sales progress firmly. <3reasy merino has advanced id per Ib ; also scoured crossbred have advanced £d to Id per lb. Coarse crossbred has advanced nearly Id per lb ; all since close of last sales. Other descriptions are unchanged. Tallow— Market is dull, Tallow declined about 10s per ton since last report,; New Zealand Hemp.— The -trade demand has increased. Medium is worth £30 per ton. Frozen Meat. — Mutton ' i — Market quiet, owing to the unfavourable weather. Canterbury mutton is worth 5d per lb. Wellington mutton is worth 4£d per lb. Beef — Market is unchanged. September 29. The English wheat market has an upward tendency, the Continental is advancing,; and. the American ib also changing for ttie better;.; • Tallow — Medium mutton, 24/6 ; beef, 24/. The quantity 1 of wool catalogued to date 60,600 biles of which 57,600 have been sold.
