STEVENS & GORTON'S STOCK EEPORT. Bulls, September 6. We held a very satibfactory stock sale at Palmerston yesterday, and are pleased to report a decided improvement in prices of cattle. The bidding for young cattle was more spirited than we have seen it for sometime past, and we sold all classes at higher rates. Sheep also sold well and at improved rates. We quote : — Cattle.— Fat bullocks, £5 13/6 to £5 15/6; lighter bullocks, £5 2/6; forward cows, £3 6/- ; milkers, £3 10/---to £4 10/- ; weaner and year steers, 22/- to 24/6 ; meaner steers, 18/- ; mixed, 16/- to 18/. ■: Sheep. — Fat wethers, 1 3/9 ; forward wethers, 11/3 tpll/11 ; fat ewes, 10/---to 10/6 ; store ewes, 7/6 to 8/6 ; hoggets, 6/5 to 8/.
