(per united pkkss association.) Dpnedin, September 5 At the inquest on the body of Oh.trle Roberts a verdict that he shot himself while temporarily insane was returned. It appears he had been despondent, as he had lost money lately. Auckland. September 5. , The Hospital and Charitable Aid Board have decided to change the system of having the hospital controlled by an honorary medical stiiff, and intend to appoint a medical superintendent at a salary of £500 per annum. The fate of the young Bowden, who disappeared some time ago is still wrapped m mystery. His father, the Key Mr Bowden, has come from Nelson to make inquires. Oamabu, Seofenvbpr 6 An elderly man named John Oruickshank was arrested to-day on a charge of criminally assaulting a girl under twelve years of age. Up to the present time no one has announced his intention of opposing Mr Hislop for the Oamaru seat. Requisitions to Mr Hislop have been largely signed and will be presented to him on his arrival to-morrow night. Charles Thompson, who wag brought here from Wel'inartou on a charge of wife desertion, was ordered to find securities, failing which he has to go to gaol for a month. Chhistchurch, September 6. The Ministers' Association met this afternoon, and as Sullivan declined to make the required explanation they decided to publish the facts within their knowledge, and leave the public to judge for themselves. In the meanwhile they cannot recognise Sullivan under the circumstances.
