Wanganui Harbor Board
A meeting of the above was held on Monday. Present — Messrs Ballance (chair), Sommerville, Bitchie, Thatcher, J. L. Ltevenson, Hatrick, E. A. Campbell and Higgie. The rninntes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Bank account showed a credit of £994 lQs od. Accounts amounting to j8309 fis 5d were passed for payment. Mr Bray recommended that grass seed | be. sown on all the road lines in the Harbor Block, and it was resolved that the recommendation be adopted. Notice that Mr "W. Bitchie had been appointed a member of the Board by the Government was laid on the table. Mr Menzies, one of the contractors on the Harbor Board Block, who had suffered a loss on his contract of .£1.50, in addition to his labour and that of his son, asked for " consideration. The contract was .£153 10a, and that was 20 per cent, below the nest tenderer. Referred back to Mr Bray for his report. The Kiwitea Boad Board asked that pieces of land be reserved for a cemetery and school reserve on the block. It was pointed out that a site had already been granted for a schoolon the gravel reserve.
