London Dock Labourers' Strike

The strike of the dock labourers and stevedores has prevented the New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer sailing for the (lolony. Thirty thousand clock workmen are now on strike. The dock labourers who struck were receiving 5d an hour. They demand an increase to 6d. The export shippers' hands threaten to join the dock labourers and stevedores who are out on strike. The P. and 0. Company's steamer Massilla will sail with only a quarter of her usual complement of cargo.
