In the Legislative Assembly this evening, the Premier stated that there were over one hundred recidivistes in New South Wales alone. The Government had communicated with the i -penal authorities, requesting the latter to approach France on the subject. He intended to istroduce a severe Bill to stop the influx of criminals from New Caledonia.
The deliveries of grain»for the week are — 205 tons of flour from Victoria; 194 tons flour and 330 tons of wheat from Adelaide ; 122 tons flour and 105 tons of wheat from New Zealand.

Fearful weather has been experienced all along the coast, and shipping business is at a standstill. The German barque Gerdheye was wrecked- at Moulton Bay, but no lives were lost.
